Update: I closed the game and restarted it, and then the x2 award appeared and ran the full length. Very strange. Same thing happened when I hit the next one. It didn't apply. I closed out, and restarted, and then it applied at full length.

@SongGoddess the 2x reward is 2x ore. I have not had a problem.

@SongGoddess I don't think I encountered this before, but I'm glad you managed to resolve it. I'll play RotM tomorrow, and I'll report back if I see anything unusual.

@PolarTown I wanted to message my apologies for all the nonsense going on with US and Canada. I buy Canadian, specially produce, and will continue to do so even if it costs more. A couple of friends and I joked about taking a trip to Canada to apologize to as many Canadians as possible in a few days. I emailed one of the Canadian premiers asking for an application for my state to be annexed by Canada. This is a game forum, not for politics, so delete this message after reading.
