Exactly what I'm here to rant about.
When I played on my Amazon fire, I put my factories really close, so I could navigate the game on that device. I've switched to a new device, but kept the arrangement and I can't even SEE the factories. I can see a carpet of bubbles. And I have to get close up to the factories just to touch them, because the bubbles are so big.
Holy cow, you have to work to jack this game up more, but someone has been putting in the hours.
Updates on my town:
Hi. It's been a minute since I've been here. But I have been wondering what's happening with the game, as I play daily, but not a lot. What I have been most surprised by is no place to earn new decos anywhere. It's making me wonder, what motivates lower level players to play? What is the prize, because I thought it was cool things for our towns (for me, my town IS the prize)?
While I don't enjoy the adventure, I don't understand it either, as I don't see the point. The mini game is soooo high anxiety, for me, that I avoid it completely. I guess I just don't understand what's bringing new players to the game.
@Neighbor Jane I see much inconsistency in my regatta list. It's so ridiculous that some weeks I almost demote because I'm just not getting tasks I can do. Then there's this week, which, hilariously, I ended up promoted to gold, with 1500 points.
That's actually what I came here to tell people, cuz it's funny: I accidentally got in gold league this week lol. (and before anyone says it, I have no intention of keeping that position. Racing in silver is just fine for me since they're not giving decos anyway. Unlike one commenter here, I would have been quite happy to get repeat decos, since I don't have them).
This might not be the right place where I read it, but I also appreciate whomever notified there are different gold passes, and prices. That's weird and I didn't notice something like that in my game. I did notice that an avatar is the prize for the next adventure, to which I laughed cuz that's a guarantee I won't even look at it.
And now folk are here describing a "new" look for the game? Guess I'll wait and see. I haven't seen anything dramatic yet. But I'm of the opinion something DOES have to change, because, while others might have been tired of the "recycled decos" NO decos, and torture "adventures" will mean this game's failure, if something pleaseant isn't added. Frankly, I am really bored with this game now. I still play it, because I like my town a lot.
I don't think I have that either, as I just changed my avatar and didn't see anything matching a new dog avatar.
Update: my race in silver was quite peaceful. I didn't worry about it, but did do tasks. In the end there were not 15 racers. I didn't get to see how many there were but it was less than 15. Don't know if that's normal for silver or not, but it's fine if it is.
@Neighbor Jane I am definitely still doing stuff, but it took me a hilariously long time to get to 92, so I'm just being realistic.
As I tried to sort out where to put them, I found myself really struggling with what to sell off. It might be a blessing not having access to them, where I'm at.
But, like you, I do like reasons for cake, so I'll keep working on it lol.
@Neighbor Jane so I can't build any of the new houses until level 110? I do have the barbershop, but not until 110. That is forever from now. The houses just aren't there.
Is it weird to get part of the update but not all? I have never had that happen before, but it did happen this time. I have the expansion; I don't have the new buildings, etc.
And, my calendar has also disappeared.
Thanks for being supportive. If I can't play my normal game the way I want, I don't want to play that part at all. I did mostly 130-135 tasks, but I got screwed on one so had to dump it. But everyone else had more people than me so obviously I could never match it (previous week's game was quit normal with all single racers and I was ok).
I hope they don't "improve" anything else in this game cuz I'm about out of stuff I enjoy doing. But I did come here for the bad new, instead of opening my game, as I really dislike being forced to watch my racing replay. whether I win or not. Bad news is always better, from nice people :D.
Thanks for the offer @PolarTown. Not sure how that would have worked, but I appreciate the offer.
I'm on the last task for regatta today, and I'm definitely going to drop out of gold. I think every coop in my race has more than 2 people racing. I'm in the lowest 4 currently, and everyone above me has waaaay more points than I can do. So I guess I'll be done with gold, and regattas after this week, unless something unforeseen happens.
Sooooooo excited as I just saw it has new houses...yes please. I'm not done building houses so I'll be happy for more kinds to choose from. And my deco will be home soon...Good things!
Well, at this point, I'm feeling like, as long as I play every Sunday and do adequately, there will always be 3 others who don't bother. This time I went to bed in 8th, having completed 14 tasks, and woke in 10th.
I have been waiting as long as possible before dumping things though. I have found that taking tasks, and not dumping until there nothing acceptable, works best for me. And then I don't dump them all at once, in case that next one might be good. I ended up waiting 2 hours for my last task, but that was the only one.
Oh, also (cuz I saw the graphic above), my first and second place winners had hilariously high points. And the first place had at least 15 racers.
@PolarTown thanks for the wiki. I forget it exists. I was thinking it seemed like it might be somewhat soon, but I didn't think about the fill in games, etc. Guess I'll just wait, but I'm really hoping for that spot. I have a deco that wants to be home.
How do we know when an update is coming? I know in game it will say. But I'm wondering when it's typical to expect the next, and whether any expansions are included? I guess I'm curious if they will release the expansion on that far right, almost-corner piece.
Well, finished up my night again, and I'm still in gold today. This time all the racers were single racers like me and it seemed like I a normal race.
Per @Neighbor Jane 's advice, I started accepting tasks at 120 too. I had been dumping those but decided to just do them so I could get 15 tasks done. However, like last week, I didn't get 15 tasks done (the 2 hour timer kills it for me.). In fact, I believe I stopped with 5 left, and that was the same last week.
So, tl;dr - I'm doing waaaaay fewer tasks now, for lower points and I still haven't dropped out. Perhaps I'll keep going and see how long it takes (kind of a funny experiment).
And now I finally got it. The pain is over. Yay!
When it comes to the adventures, I am noticing this alien one has got sooooo many of the cluster piles, it is literally as unpleasant, as getting a shot. The game boards with the batteries should not exist. It's not even a game; it's a torture device. And since I've been stuck, for days, on one of those boards, I have to wait for energy to refill to clear the path.
Those clusters are 6 deep, there are at least 3 to complete 1 adventure task; and they've increased the energy per hit required, so I can hit something 2 times, come back, hit something 2 more times....TORTURE. I have been working on THE LAST TASK FOR 4 DAYS. AND I'M NOT EVEN DONE. If I didn't want this food truck I wouldn't do it.
And that's the thing. It's one thing to motivate people to pay to speed things up. This is past that. This is: we're not even interested in whether you enjoy it. Give us some money. With that said, they need to get better artists or something, if they're going to go this way. Once I get this last one, I have no reason to work on their horribly unpleasant adventures ever again.
You would think they would want to continue to have a fun game. It used to be fun; now they're just shoving more and more devices in, to punish you for trying to enjoy their game. Quite disappointed in the changes that have come of recent.(sorry for my rant. I'm tired of this adventure and making the end take so long, and be so monotonous, boring, unrewarding and unmotivating, is evil, imo).
@PolarTown thanks for the break down. I like the boosters, of course. But really the town supplies are most useful for me. Yesterday I was able to buy a couple buckets of paint, and that was useful; pickaxes are useful. Good to know those aren't lost in silver.
