What is the Foundry?
Once you have restored the Mine (lvl 21) and started digging up various kind of ores, you will need the Foundry, to turn them into ingots (bars).
The Foundry can be bought in the "Special" section in Township Store. See Special Buildings. You can buy max. 2 Foundries. The first one when you have a population of 730 - the next when you have 920.
There is no way to upgrade the Foundries, but they can be boosted in thelaboratory with "Effecient Smelting".
What are ingots used for?
- Ingots can be used to upgrade your towns existing factories, making them more efficient. To do this, you must first build Academy of Industry.
- If you put an ingot into your ships' load, when sending them away, you will have a better chance of getting the rare stuff from the islands.
- You can upgrade speed on trains and ships.
- Ships can be boosted for rare fruits/fish.
- You can buy some special buildings and decorations for ingots.
- If you are out of coins, you can sell ingots or manufacture coins out of them in the Mint.

How does it work?
| When you are inside the Foundry and you tap one of the ingots, you will see 3 numbers: 1 number below the ore is telling you how many ingots you have in your barn. Beside the ore you see 2 numbers in the form of 5/5 where 5/ is how many ore you have in stock in your warehouse (in the mine) and /5 is the number you need to make 1 ingot. | |

When you have enough ores you can throw the ingot into the owen - and it will be made.
Many Township players ask how to move the ores from the mine to the barn. They CAN'T be moved. The Foundry will take the ores from the Warehouse when you make ingots.
When the ingot is ready the little guy will hold it in his hands, and you can take it (put it into your barn)
