I've noticed you've been directing people to the forums a lot lately, but I wanted to let you know you can't actully contact Playrix on the forums. Let me explain. There is only one staff member on the Playrix forums, and they only answer threads at request, unless you send her a PM. All the questions are answered by players like you and me, and even the forum is moderated by players, just like the wiki is.
I've removed that part from the comment. Usually, when I look at the forum, I notice people reporting bugs or glitches on the forum, so I thought you actually could. Sorry for my mistake.. Have a happy weekend
Playrix has made their Facebook group their official contact means, apart from the ingame report, which is still the best method to report anything to them, as the ingame report sends game+device data. But I would still send anyone with game questions to the Playrix forum, simply cos there are a LOT of experienced players, and also cos the Coop and player ads are there. :)
oh, and I forgot to mention that the 2 Moderators at the Playrix Forum are appointed by Playrix and still seem to work well together with the Admin. She's scarce, but still there and posted this for us as "reinsurance":
You and Ethan can decide that, Adarsh. I didn't see your "mistake" anyway, but "mentioning the forums" is not one, IMO.
That is why I posted here. That and why I think it is still a good idea to send ppl to the forum - just that they don't expect too much or too fast there. AND/OR to use the ingame report. (or, so be it, to the FB page ;Þ )
From what I have seen at Playrix and many other places, though, is: no matter where and how often you write such general help, ppl *don't* read. (in general anyway) They come and post their issue.
So, a general hint on the main page is certainly a good idea. It won't save you from having to mention (again and again) that ppl have to go elsewhere for "programming game-help", though, and where. So you're better prepared to have also a common wording for that, between the two of you. :)
as an aside: if I were you (the Admins here), I would reduce the forum here on the Wiki anyway. That one is bigger than many fora I have seen by whole game companies. ;)
<annoyed look> sorry, me again, now logged in.... :)
I wanted to add in my post above to this:
>> just that they don't expect too much or too fast there.
=> for the reasons that Ethan mentioned. One can't indeed see it as a place to contact Playrix directly, not for sure at all. But the forum - and very probably also the FB group, although also moderated by players - is not the same as the Wiki, IMO.
And you'd better send them rather there than keeping them here for answering questions, alone for the reason that you are only two here (that I see regularly), and your work for keeping the Wiki uptodate is more important (still IMO) than answering the same questions again and again.
It's still okay to mention and direct people to the forums, I do it all the time for common issues, or questions that I can't answer, and even If there looking for a coop (we have ads here too, but the more the better.)
I would love nothing more than to 86 the forums here (86 means get rid of in US) as short staffed as we are but the forums being a default feature cannot be disabled in *most cases*. I could archive the forum board(s), which is what Playrix did to the Homescapes, Gardenscapes, and Fishdom forums, but that wouldn't last more than a few months as FANDOM will still be introducing a new version of the forums like what is already on the Homescapes wiki forum and that layout can't be archived or disabled. Plus if you notice there's no boards, everything is mixed together. So I'm afraid there is no way to degrade the forums on this wiki for more than just a few months (or possibly weeks) until the forums are upgraded.
Another bad thing is the forum cannot be searched, at all, the only search here searches the wiki pages, but the new forum format will have that.
We do have near 1000 coop ads, plus a couple a hundred in the comments, and another thousand in spreadsheet. That's about 2500 coop ads that I would like to keep.
But I could contact FANDOM Staff and try to convence them to do the above, but will probably have no luck.
thanks for the explanations! hadn't heard of 86 before, indeed :)
That's a pity with FANDOM's decisions then. I am pretty sure that esp. this amount of subfora is not needed, much too filigree. One for Coop ads makes sense, another for game questions, maybe one for tech. stuff. I'd have hoped you could edit the structure. :)
Then one could still talk about what to archive and what to keep at these at the top/root.
I thought I did this before (and I might have on your old account) but I updated your user rights to administrator! Now you can update the navigation, and publish the rest of your ideas. Congratulations!
I feel that spamming in small quantities is ok to block for a few hours! But I don't feel to spam users as, it might have been their mistake... Meanwhile, I got the School of Magic for 500 Coins, and at Level 2 it beca me 14 Caramel, 12_Yogurt, and 12,500 Coins. I feel that this decoration is a total waste..
I belive they are the same users I've blocked at least three times before, because usally I would set the block for 1-3 days. That's why I went a bit longer.
Yes, the School of Magic decor is a bit useless, I got it for free in 2017 and after putting at least 40,000 coins and who-knows how many products into it, it is only a decoration that dosn't bring much to your town.
That's ok. I will redirect my account later. Meanwhile DD wants your help in the Decorations Table.. I couldn't help him, as whenever I use a PC to edit, the source editor never opens. Could you please let him know your decision
Great! Everything is going well, I still have low blood sugar, low blood pressure, low cholesterol, etc. so I'm kind of out of energy all the time., which is why I don't log on all the time. Plus work, and I had a family reunion today. So I've also been a little busy!
could you pls have a look at the City Hall page -- I've deleted about 5 superfluous commas in the text, but now the table at the bottom is centered!
I can see the word "center" in brackets < > in different places when comparing the versions, but don't know what to do to repair it.
If it is too complicated to put the table correct to the left side again, pls just undo my changes, and sorry :)
(should I have written this rather in a comment on that page?)
They probably should have worded that as replaced rather than removed.
Forums: The Township Wiki is like one in one hundred community that still use the forums (there are over 350,000 wikis) so they just decided to replace it with Discussions. This has already been activated on the Homescapes Wiki , so I've been making test post and such there to get used to it.
Message Wall: Message Walls are tied into the same code as forums, so when the forums are retired message walls must go too. FANDOM said they do have a replacement on the way, they just haven't announced it yet. If we don't like the replacement we can always revert to talk pages.
Article Comments I don't really think these are going away (I could be wrong). There just retiring the code, and bringing in more modern comment systems.
Either way, FANDOM said they we're going have replacements for all these features, and existing content will be transferred automatically to the new platform.
Even, I was confused when the discuss options were there in the Homescapes Wiki, and why it was not implemented here. But right now I'm this wiki, I find it really difficult to edit on complex pages- like decorations table, and goods, where you reload the webpage 5 to 7 times and still it just shows were. I really wish that these issues get fixed in the new platform.
Yes, I think you can remove the bureaucrat flag. I am not much experienced with Fandom. When I first came to the Wiki, I did'nt know know how to collapse, or create icons. It was you and Sabine, who helped me, to edit. So I am not well aware of these options. I am finally happy, that the Homescapes wiki has reach 1000 edits, and is growing abunduntly, for the past few days.
Ya, I surely did. Just forgot, about your message. Sorry about that. How is your health now? Are you ok..
Also, just for your info, I have created a page, for the Proffesor's Experiments Event . A new user in Homescapes Wiki- User:Danaceks has been of great help around the wiki. Now everything is going fine, in that wiki too
I'm doing fine! I went back to work Wednesday, despite I was suppose to wait until Thursday, I needed to get out of the house. So much to catch up on. I noticed a few days ago you changed the background on HS Wiki.
I have carefully reviewed, and might add moderator rights to User:Danaceks after a few more days/weeks!
Thank you very much.. Yes, I had changed the background because, the old backgfound appears different on each and every device. It seems normal on a laptop, tiled on a destop and even plain brown. So, I decides, to avoid all these confusions and replace it to a standard sunset background.
When you deleted your userpage it began showing a red non-clickable link, and the CSS Highlight dosn't work for deleted pages. Perhaps you might want to consider just leaving your page blank or using the content from your old account's userpage.
