When you reach lvl 5 your first train will arrive at the Train Station. The game has 3 trains.

Train number 2 and 3 come as soon as you pay what they cost.

What will come with the train?

By train you can get constructing materials for community buildings, materials to upgrade your barn, tools to buy expansions and tools for working in the mine..

Send trains loaded with goods to other townships. First fill the trains' railcars with the type and quantity of goods shown on each railcar. You will get experience (XP) for your goods - but no gold. The train will exchange your goods and come back with some of this:

Most of the time mining tools are delivered in a box containing different numbers of each type of tools

Some trains have more railcars than others. The time it will take before they come back will increase as you level up - and seems to max out at about 5 hours. Time can be upgraded with ingots in the Academy of Industry. Trains are upgraded separately.

Just like other building like farm, you can skip the train by using T-Cash.

Where can I get more building supplies?

• There are frequently special deals on tools and materials at the market.
• Treasure chests can be found in the Mine or your friends' towns. They are also brought by ship from the islands.They might contain the building supplies or mining tools.
• Load and send airplanes. The chests you receive as rewards sometimes contain the materials you need.
• You can always use Township Cash to buy any materials you need.

TIPS:

If you get too much building supplies and your barn is full, you may have to sell some of it. Look at the "$-signs" at your expansions, Community Buildings and Barn to see what is needed for your next building/expansion.
